The questions

Every question and answer option is taken word for word from BAMF’s official catalogue. It has 300 general questions and 10 for each of the 16 states. 310 of them matter to you: the general ones and your state’s.

How we check the answers

  • Every correct answer is compared with BAMF’s free Online-Testcenter, which shows the right answer to each question.
  • We also cross-check against independent open datasets. Where they differ, the Testcenter wins.
  • Explanations (95 so far, in simple German and English) are drafted with the help of AI and checked against the source named under each one, such as the Grundgesetz.

Where real life has changed

For these questions the answer depends on current events. The test still expects the catalogue answer until BAMF changes it. We watch them and update Passpip as soon as a new catalogue appears.
